President & CEO, Lisa James is a highly respected business executive with over 30 years of experience in the healthcare field. She is a visionary, whose leadership abilities and drive for innovation have enabled her to consistently design and guide programs through their developmental stages and beyond. Commencing her career in hospital pharmacy, she then spent a decade with a major pharmaceutical firm. From there, Lisa formed a boutique consulting firm specializing in environmental issues, which has provided a multitude of services to clients over the past twenty-five years.

Throughout her career, Lisa has demonstrated superior organizational skills, excellent project management abilities and has brought enthusiasm and excitement to unusual and ambitious projects. To each project, she has the ability to see the whole picture while attending to the small details. An accomplished speaker, writer, facilitator and trainer, Lisa also possesses an outstanding ability to communicate with all types of people.

In 2013, Lisa was a nominee for the Humber College Premier Awards, which are given to alumni each year to recognize their contributions to social and economic development in their field of study. Lisa was a nominee in the Health Sciences category for her efforts to increase the efficiency of packaging for pharmaceutical products. Profile: James is a trailblazer who has made a major impact on environmental sustainability by working with pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies and hospitals to find efficiencies in packaging design and waste.

Her journey: A pioneer in her field, James is at the forefront of the national and provincial movements for the safe disposal of medicines. She is also a leading expert in helping pharmaceutical companies reduce their environmental footprint and achieve compliance targets.

Of note: James is the founder and a lifetime honorary member of the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians.

In her own words: “As a pharmacy technician student at Humber, work placements were incredibly important to me. At these placements, I could put theory into practice and develop the job-ready skills I needed to start my career immediately after graduation."

Lisa continues to work with pharmaceutical companies and health care facilities throughout Ontario to guide them in increasing the efficiency of their packaging, increasing diversion of waste, and maintaining compliance with a variety of environmental regulations.
