In August Greta Thunberg celebrated the one-year anniversary of the start of her climate change movement. She began striking by herself outside the Swedish parliament, and soon, students around the world began walking out of school, demanding action from their governments. She’s been called “the voice of the planet,” and has even been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Greta is creating a movement where young people are leading the way of pushing communities, cities, corporations and governments. She is personally taking on the responsibility that we adults have been slack at taking more aggressive action. Nevertheless, each one of us must still do the best we can towards reducing emissions thereby slowing planet warming and the future suffering of all people as a result.
